Spudster The Speedster!

I’m Spudster the speedster. I’m affectionate, young, handsome, restless, strong, fast, agile, wild … I’m ALIVE!!! Because I’m in the care of people who will do almost anything to save us from dying just because we are homeless. I’ve been neutered – so the buck stops here! I’ve been de-wormed. I’ve been vaccinated. I’m stunning, and as you can see, I dunno if the postman or my mom was the Beagle :-) Whatever! I’ve inherited the the most intense DNA ……. WILL YOU JUST LOOK AT ME!!!!???? I’m going to be here as a medium to long term boarder because I’m so special and because I’ve heard them say they don’t care how many applicants they have to turn away, they will wait for the right, the good, the perfect home especially for me. It has to be because I love life, I love people and I love ACTION so if you need someone to light up your life big-time, I’m your boy and I’m NOT for couch potatoes…whatever that means :-) Meantime, I have awesome neighbors ……. flip! That Robert is such a character I really think he’s cool. He’s my hero! To be honest I really dig all of them. We have such a cool neighborhood, but we can’t actually play together properly ‘cos we get really ROF and normally one of us gets pssd off and then there’s a snotklap here and there and groot k@k!!! So we just jol around with people. Oh ja, I almost forgot – I LOVE TO KISS!! Sponsor me. Adopt me (or TRY to – hahaaaaa – you’ve gotta be the BEST or you won’t score!) Love me …. DO SOMETHING for me, puhleeeeez!!!

Please contact Brenda from CHARM if you would like to sponsor or adopt Spud.  083 707 7204

Please Help – Owner Passed Away!

I got involved with you all in regards to the costs for spaying/castrating cats (see e-mails below) and am assuming that you are also cat lovers. I took Asus (my youngest kitty) in to be spayed by Dr Zagt although I am convinced that he fitted her with a V8 engine instead – she is so energetic one cannot keep up with her.

The reason why I am writing to you all is to try and help another cat (adult, neutered tom). He is grey in colour. It’s original owner initially had two cats; one cat died just over a week ago followed by its owner (a woman of about 50+), leaving the remaining cat destitute. The woman was buried last Friday morning. Her sister (Annemarie) lives in the same duplex complex that I do. She came to ask if I would adopt her sister’s cat. In terms of the house rules each unit is permitted two animals only. I already have three cats and cannot adopt the tom cat. The tom cat is boarding somewhere at R50 a day. Annemarie cannot adopt her sister’s cat because her dog has no love for cats at all and she doesn’t want to expose the poor cat to any further trauma; she is not sure how old the tom cat is. Annemarie is also not in great shape at the moment – her mother is also seriously ill in hospital and the doctor has no hope for her recovery.

If any of you know of someone who would be willing to adopt this male (neutered) please could they get in touch with the owner’s sister for further information. Annemarie can be reached at:

Stray Kitty – Svetlana

My friends Wanja and Willem are set to emigrate next week to New Zealand, but a stray cat (Svetlana!) moved in with them a few days ago, and they are desperate to find a good home for her before they leave. They have not been able to track down her previous owners. They will pay to have her spayed and to get her injections. She’s a dear cat in need of a loving home.

Wanja can be contacted at wanjasenekal@gmail.com.

Rozy Says Hello!

For those of you who do not know Rozy’s story.

She was found frantically running around Vredenburg , West Coast and a good Samaritan caught her , took her to the vet where they removed a rope still tightly bound just above her paw which had already badly cut into her flesh.   Rozy had started to chew at her paw which we believe was her attempt to free herself from wherever she was tied up.    I was really hoping that only the bottom section of her leg had to be amputated but as she had no circulation in the leg the vet could not save her leg.

Rozy is still in foster care with LEAPS and is recovering VERY WELL and her disability has certainly not stopped this precious girl from running around.   She is quite the dominant little one so we are still looking for the right home for her.

Rozy also wants to THANK those who once again so generously came forward to help pay for her amputation and sterilisation !

Looking For Jackson!

Our Jack Russell has now been missing for 2 months. And he is now 10 months old. We are still desperately looking for him and would appreciate any help anyone can offer. He was not wearing a collar when he disappeared and does not have a microchip. He had just had his last stitches removed from his left eye – he had to have emergency surgery after he punctured the lens capsule and had to have it removed. He was very lucky to be able to keep the eye. We suspect someone picked him up from the tourist area on the wine farm we live on because he might have been a little lost as he obviously couldn’t find his way back home. And we couldn’t find a body anywhere so we can only assume that’s what the case is.

If you could pass his picture and information around I would be most grateful. We miss him terribly.

Use Your Voice–and Your Face–to Help Elephants!

Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus and other circuses beat and whip elephants to force them to perform silly tricks. Far away from the big-top spotlight, the cries of these isolated and scared animals go unheard. But now you know about this abuse, and YOU can help.

Elephants need your voice—or, in this case, your face!

Sheba – Must Be Only Dog

Please pass on far and wide.  This girl has been “homeless” for far too long now!!!  She is truly an awesome gal!!!

Sheba

Howdy all Ye Animal Lovers!

My name is Sheba.  I am sooooooo tired of being shoved from pillar to post. Since my family moved very far away in an airplane every time I meet someone I love, I have to move on. Last year I thought I met a nice family and they ended up dumping me, broken leg and all, in an abandoned place!!  AS IF….. WOW, I was in such pain.  What a relief …… This chick rocked up …… out of nowhere ….. picked  me up, took one look at me, and took me to a place where they patched me all up and made me betta!  Yussie ……. WOMAN SURE ROCK!!!! Ai ……. Even my latest ma – it was sooo divine at her place. I really thought that she had also met her soul mate, companion, best friend forever and that we’d love only each other always. Turns out she has dawgs ‘n katz for Afrika and NO WAY JOSE !! I will not tolerate any interference or competition. I’m very heart sore and I know she understands because she comes and loves me every day at the Halfway House and brings me treats and toys and peanut butter and lots of other nice stuff. All I want to do is go home with her and kill those little chits of hers because THEY are keeping us apart …. but I heard her saying there is definitely a somebody out there who, like me, is MONOGAMOUS! And she’s gonna find ‘em. So I’m going to hang around here because I really do trust my mom (hee hee I call her that because it feels like she really is!) and I know she will find my soul mate for me. No matter what or how long it takes. In the meantime if you can help feed and look after me by sponsoring me for a few Rand a month or, better still, if you think YOU are the one for me, then let’s meet. I’ll be your best friend in the world forever. Promise. Big kisses Sheba xxxx

Puleeeze email my mommy’s helper Brenda and tell her that you want to come and meet me!!  SOOOOON!  I’m just dying to meet my destiny!!  bmichau@angloamerican.co.za

Cell: 083 707 7204.  Oh, and I must just tell you, that homechecks do apply, just to make sure there are no chancers!  Us Pitties are so well protected by these gals at CHARM!!!
