Lady – She is a German x Swiss Shepherd, but does not really look anything like a German Shepherd, as you can see – she looks more like a Collie/Retriever. She really is a beautiful dog and I’m quite scared that if anyone does pick her up, they will keep her 😦 I will just keep praying that my dog is returned to me. We were travelling with our 3 dogs on our way to our new home, along Hendrik Potgieter passed Featherbrook. When we reached our destination, LADY was not on the bakkie. She will be completely lost as she doesn’t know where her new home is – please bring her back to us. PLEASE!

Jack Russell – Late on Saturday night we were driving back home when we came across a stray Jack Russel cross wandering the streets on Sylvia’s Pass (near Louis Botha Avenue). We followed her for a while hoping that she would get unnerved and go straight to the safety of her home, but instead she kept wandering around aimlessly. So we stopped and picked her up (she got into our car quite easily) and took her in for the night. The next morning we took her to the Orange Grove Veterinary Hospital on Louis Botha, where she is still currently being kept. We would have cared for her ourselves but we already have too many dogs of our own. We have placed posters up all over the place and left photos at all the surrounding vets, but there has still been no word from her owners.
The vet confirmed that she was on heat (so she hasn’t been spayed). She also had no collar or microchip. We have attached photos of her to help with identification. She is definitely a home dog because she made herself at home when we took her in, and she behaved very well. She was also very comfortable in the presence of humans – so we’re hoping that she hadn’t gone very far.
If anyone knows who this poor girl belongs to, PLEASE let us know asap. Also, please forward this to as many contacts as possible so that we can hopefully find her owners. As I’ve mentioned, she was found on Sylvia’s Pass near Louis Botha Avenue (close to Observatory and Linksfield). Unfortunately the vets cannot keep her for much longer so if her owners cannot be found Cora Bailey from CLAW has offered to take her in. At CLAW she will be spayed and then placed for adoption, as there will be no other alternative.
